Chad Mintz was raised in the city of Haymarket, Virginia where he attended Battlefield High School and was given a full tuition scholarship to Tuskegee University due to academic achievement and later went on to earn a scholarship from the US Air Force covering full tuition and living expenses. While at Tuskegee University, he served as a volunteer for the pilot program of the Legacy Flight Academy; a non-profit organization that conducts character-based youth aviation programs that draw upon the legacy of the Tuskegee Airman. The Legacy Flight Academy allowed Chad to mentor 14 high school students during a 2-week leadership aviation camp. His experience from earning academic achievements in high school and receiving leadership opportunities in both high school and college brought him to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Sales and Marketing and commissioning in the United States Air Force.
Chad currently serves as a Captain in the United States Air Force and has served for approximately 7 years to date. He has served as a Contracting Officer at both Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM and Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC. Chad currently serves as an Officer Training Instructor at Maxwell Air Force Base as a reservist. Chad has always wanted to explore career opportunities in aviation to fulfill his desire to fly. He attained his Private Pilot License as well as his Instrument Rating at commercial aviation schools in both South Carolina and Georgia and recently attained his Commercial Pilot License with the Red Tail Scholarship Foundation in Tuskegee, AL.
Chad is excited to have the distinctive opportunity to return to the prestigious city where he received his college degree to both pursue his dream of flying, as well as to help give back to my community in Tuskegee, AL. Chad feels driven to propel the legacy and mission of the well renowned Tuskegee Airmen and is both proud and honored to help continue lifting the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen in not only Tuskegee, AL, but the to the world.
