I am Dorian Sankey, a graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and an avionics specialist at the 187 Fighter Wing, Alabama Air National Guard. I am from a small town called River Falls, Alabama, where unfortunately most are accustomed, comfortable with their small-town life. Despite this, my ambitious drive kept me from adopting a similar mindset. Throughout my journey as a scholar, I’ve been a part of multiple organizations such as the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. In addition to my active participation in these organizations, I managed to graduate Auburn University with a 3.0 grade point average.
Above all, the accomplishment that I hold dearest is being a recipient if the Red Tail Scholarship Foundation. Since obtaining the scholarship, I’ve been adamantly pursuing a Private Pilot’s License in hopes to prepare myself closer to my dream of becoming a pilot in the United States Air Force. Although everyday of this pursuit is physically and mentally challenging, I am delighted to be given the opportunity. Not only am I learning new things about flight every day, but I am also fine-tuning skills needed in everyday life. I am so thankful for the Red Tail Scholarship Foundation and its donors for their generous contributions. Their generosity has given me hope and has motivated me to pursue my goals even harder.
Thank you again donors for your selflessness.
